„The beauty of the world sets the mind in constant vibration: the forms of nature become – through the magic of art – forms of fantasy.“  (Anselm Adams)

At the age of 15, thanks to my own camera, I began to move on the path of black and white photography and since then a lot of beautiful and amazing things have happened for me on this path. But thanks to my own laboratory, photography and the conversion into a fine art print has never let go of me in the last 50 years. No, many new things have arisen through the appropriation in self-experimentation: working with the noble printing techniques cyano and argyrotypia, photographing by means of multiple exposures, the implementation of an image idea by means of multiple toning, the lith printing technique and as the youngest child in this „development series“ sandblasting of wooden substrates and coating by means of liquid photo emulsion has been added.

And there were also always enrichments in terms of recording. For me, photography using a KB camera is on an equal footing with that of the medium format (up to 6×9) and the handling of a panorama camera as well as a pinhole camera or a specialist camera in medium format.

I see myself on this path as a curious person who is always ready to discover new things in order to help one’s own imagination, if necessary with the help of self-developed aids (e.g. a rotatable and tiltable screen with Japanese paper covering as a projection surface for shadow images).

In any case, my work has been advanced by the practice of my own annual exhibitions on changing themes, sometimes in association with other artists (e.g. wood sculptors). I took this step 28 years ago and have never regretted it since. It has become an elixir of life for me, so to speak, and every time it brings me creatively forward with my own ideas in the choice of motifs, the specific implementation and the conception of the future exhibition. In doing so, I have the ambition to show new works and in some cases also to open up new thematic areas in the field of nature photography.
